Privacy Policy

1. Plant data stored on your device

Plantine stores the plant information you create in its persistent local SwiftData store. This can include plant names and types, cover photos, growth photos and captions, notes, indoor or outdoor placement, location labels, rain eligibility, care routines, care events, and schedule history.

Plantine does not claim iCloud or cloud-sync storage for these records. Plant data is used to show your garden, calculate care history and streaks, and support the app’s routines.

2. First-party analytics

When the app has its analytics configuration, Plantine sends limited first-party usage events to our Supabase project. The app creates a pseudonymous installation identifier in the device Keychain and sends it with the event name, event time, iOS platform, and sanitized event metadata.

• Analytics may describe feature use, purchases, prompts, or screens in aggregate.
• The analytics code is designed not to send plant names, notes, photos, or other plant-record content.
• Plantine does not use this telemetry for cross-app or cross-website advertising tracking.

This is pseudonymous product analytics, not a promise that every event is anonymous. Contact us if you have a question about a telemetry event or a deletion request.

3. Rain Assist and location context

If you use Rain Assist, the app requests a one-time location fix while evaluating recent local weather. It uses that location with Apple WeatherKit to decide whether a rain prompt qualifies for plants you marked as receiving rain. If permission is denied or weather cannot be checked, no prompt is shown.

Rain Assist is a prompt, not silent watering automation: you must confirm before the app logs eligible plants as watered. The app source does not put the one-shot location fix into your plant record.

4. Local notifications

Care reminders are scheduled on your device through Apple’s local UserNotifications framework. They can include actions such as Mark Done and Snooze. Plantine does not claim APNs delivery or a remote notification server for these routine reminders. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

5. App Store purchases

Weekly Pro, Annual Pro, and Lifetime Pro options are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Plantine does not collect or store your payment card information. Apple controls billing, storefront pricing, introductory-offer eligibility, renewals, cancellations, and refunds under Apple’s policies.

6. Services used

• SwiftData — persistent local storage for plant and care records.
• Apple WeatherKit — weather context for Rain Assist when you use it.
• Apple StoreKit — in-app purchase and entitlement handling.
• Apple UserNotifications — on-device care reminders and notification actions.
• Supabase — our first-party endpoint for the limited analytics described above.

Plantine does not claim iCloud sync or APNs as a storage or reminder dependency.

7. Retention and deletion

You can remove local plant records by using the app’s controls or deleting Plantine from your device. Removing the app also removes its local SwiftData store and local notification requests. To ask about first-party analytics associated with the app’s pseudonymous identifier, contact support.

8. Security

Local records benefit from the security of your Apple device and operating system. Purchase and analytics identifiers are handled through Apple’s StoreKit and Keychain APIs. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Plantine changes. The revision date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was posted.
