Rain Assist for Plant Care | Plantine
Rain Assist is Plantine’s weather-aware plant care prompt. When you have rain-eligible plants with an active water routine, Plantine can check recent local weather and ask whether you want to log watering after qualifying rain.
It uses location context, not a permanent tracking map
When Rain Assist evaluates, the app requests a one-shot location fix for weather context and uses Apple WeatherKit data for the recent local forecast window. Location services must be enabled and permission is required; if the check cannot run, no prompt is shown.
The app prompts; you decide
Rain Assist only qualifies plants marked as receiving rain and carrying an enabled water routine. If recent rain meets the app’s threshold, Plantine shows a prompt with the affected plant count. You can confirm the action, dismiss it, or upgrade if Rain Assist is gated for your plan.
Confirmation logs only eligible watering routines
A confirmed Rain Assist action records watering for the eligible plants and reschedules their reminders through the same care-action flow. It does not claim that every plant received rain and it does not silently mark plants watered.
Rain Assist is a Pro feature
Rain Assist is available with Pro access. Plantine offers Weekly, Annual, and Lifetime Pro options through Apple’s App Store, with no website price claim because storefront pricing and eligibility are managed by Apple.
Frequently asked questions
Does Rain Assist automatically log watering?
No. It shows a prompt after qualifying local rain. You must confirm before Plantine logs watering for rain-eligible plants.
What if I deny location permission?
Rain Assist cannot evaluate local rain without a location fix, so Plantine skips the prompt. Other on-device plant routines and care logs can still be used.
Is Rain Assist available on the free plan?
Rain Assist is gated behind Pro. The app can explain the gate and show the available Pro purchase options.
